Upcycling Workshop with Madeira Embroidery
Details
Upcycling Workshop with Madeira Embroidery
Bring your own clothing items and give them new life through the art of Madeira Embroidery. Guided by a team of experienced embroiderers, you will learn to repair, transform, and enhance existing pieces using traditional stitches such as the rope stitch, satin stitch, and backstitch.
Instead of consuming more, we slow down. We look at what already exists and give it new meaning. Small stains become embroidered details, worn areas turn into stories, and simple pieces become unique. Upcycling (creative reuse) is a responsible way to reduce waste and reconnect with craftsmanship.
Workshop Program and Structure
The session has been designed to guide you through all stages of the creative process:
- The cultural significance of Madeira Embroidery and the importance of repairing and transforming clothing today.
- Identifying stains or worn areas to decide together whether to repair, cover, or highlight these elements.

- Individual, step-by-step guidance on applying the embroidery directly to your piece.
- Essential tips on how to care for embroidered pieces and extend the life of your clothing.
