Banana Sweatshirt
Details
The banana plant was introduced to the island of Madeira in the 16th century, probably from Cape Verde. It is a herbaceous plant widely cultivated on designated agricultural plots called poios, and irrigated by irrigation channels, the levadas. Anyone who has tasted the Madeira banana will know how to distinguish it from other bananas. They are smaller, but their natural sugar content is higher, which makes them Madeira's most exported fruit.
