Bailha’s Concept<\/strong><\/p>

Bailha is a contemporary embroidery brand rooted in Madeira’s cultural heritage. Through design, craftsmanship, and close collaboration with local artisans, Bailha celebrates the island’s embroidery tradition. Each piece and workshop supports fair wages, values \u200b\u200bartisanal work, and helps preserve an art form that has been part of the island’s identity for generations. <\/p>

Workshop Description<\/strong><\/p>

Join us for an immersive Madeira Embroidery workshop, guided by experienced embroiderers who collaborate with Bailha, Dorina Pita and M\u00e1rcia Gomes.<\/p>

During this 2-hour experience, participants will:
\u2022 Discover the history and cultural significance of Madeira embroidery
\u2022 Practice basic Madeira stitches, such as the cord stitch, garanito stitch, and satin stitch
\u2022 Sketch their own design
\u2022 Embroider their own Christmas napkin to take home. <\/p>

This workshop is suitable for beginners and enthusiasts; no prior experience is necessary. Each participant receives individualized guidance and support throughout the process. <\/p>

All tools and materials are provided, including:
\u2022 1 napkin (100% linen)
\u2022 Thread
\u2022 Needle
\u2022 Thimble
\u2022 Finger protection<\/p>

Participants will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of the heritage of Madeira Embroidery.<\/p>

This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn embroidery techniques. The workshop is taught in Portuguese and English. <\/p>

The workshop only takes place with a minimum of 5 people registered. If the minimum number is not reached three days before the event, registered participants will be contacted for a refund or exchange of the workshop fee for a shopping voucher. If the class is canceled for unforseen reasons, the same procedure will apply. <\/p>
