Workshop description<\/strong><\/p>

Bailha is a contemporary embroidery brand rooted in Madeira’s cultural heritage. Through design, craftsmanship, and close collaboration with local artisans, Bailha celebrates the island’s embroidery tradition, reinventing it for today. Each piece and workshop supports fair wages, values \u200b\u200bslow, artisanal work, and helps preserve an art form that has been part of Madeira’s identity for generations. <\/p>

Join us for an immersive Madeira Embroidery workshop accompanied by a cocktail, guided by David Oliveira, founder of Bailha.<\/p>

During this 3-hour experience, participants will:
\u2022 Discover the history and cultural significance of Madeira embroidery
\u2022 Practice basic Madeira stitches, such as the cord stitch, garanito stitch, and satin stitch
\u2022 Sketch their own design
\u2022 Embroider their own napkin or eco-bag to take with them. <\/p>

This workshop is suitable for beginners and enthusiasts; no prior experience is necessary. Each participant receives individualized guidance and support throughout the process. <\/p>

All tools and materials are provided, including:
\u2022 1 high-quality fabric bag (100% organic cotton) or 1 fabric (100% linen)
\u2022 Wooden border lines
\u2022 Needle
\u2022 Thimble
\u2022 Finger protector<\/p>

Participants will leave the workshop with their finished piece and a deeper understanding of the heritage of Madeira Embroidery.<\/p>

This workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to learn embroidery techniques on an ongoing basis. The workshop is taught in Portuguese and English. <\/p>

The workshop only takes place with a minimum of 5 people registered. If the minimum number is not reached three days before the event, registered participants will be contacted for a refund or exchange of the workshop fee for a shopping voucher. If the class is canceled for reasons of force majeure, the same procedure will apply. <\/p>
